Dog food company stretching recall about high vitamin D levels

(CBS New York) – A company is expanding its recall of canned foods for increased vitamin D levels.

Hill's Pet Nutrition has already recalled 25 varieties in January. Now there are eight more.

The company says the products may have toxic levels of vitamin D that can cause vomiting, weight loss and kidney failure. Cat food and dry food for dogs are not affected.
