Fitzmagic has hit Miami and we're not talking about defending Minkah Fitzpatrick around a trademark.
According to several reports, the Dolphins quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick have signed. The move came after a week in which the dolphins Ryan Tannehill drifted to the Titans and Teddy Bridgewater hit on a deal before Bridgewater was re-signed in New Orleans.
Fitzpatrick opened last season as a starter in Tampa with Jameis Winston suspended and threw eight touchdowns in a row. Fitzpatrick threw three touchdowns and three interceptions in a week-3 defeat and was then discarded the following week in favor of returning Winston during a 48-10 defeat to the Bears.
Winston was put on the bench in week eight and Fitzpatrick made three more launches before returning to the bank for the rest of the year. He was 164 out of 246 for 2,366 yards, 17 touchdowns and a total of 12 interceptions.
It was the 11th year in a row that Fitzpatrick started at least three games and he did it with six different teams. With David Fales and Luke Falk, the other quarterbacks in the Miami squad, he looks like he has a good chance of completing both brands, though the design and the rest of the freelance agency could change that attitude.
