Donald Trump Jr. defends Chelsea Clinton after the former first daughter of New York University students (NYU) was plundered, blaming her for the attacks on the New Zealand mosque.
"It is annoying to see people blaming @ChelseaClinton for attacking anti-Semitism," Trump tweeted [Saturday]. "We should all condemn anti-Semitism and all forms of hatred. Chelsea should be praised for speaking. Anyone who does not understand this is part of the problem.
The political enemies became bedfellows after a NYU student confronted Clinton, who is pregnant with her third child, at a vigil for the victims of the massacre on a Friday night.
"This is the result of a massacre that has fallen victim to by people like you and the words you bring to the world," senior student Leen Dweik Clinton said in a Friday video was published on social media. "The 49 people died from the rhetoric you set up there," added Dweik, who wore a Bernie Sanders 2020 T-shirt.
The students' comments were in response to Clinton's criticism of Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-Minnesota), which sparked controversy last month when she tweeted that a friendly lawmaker was motivated by money to defend Israel.
"It's all about the Benjamins baby," Omar said in a tweet that had been dropped for the last time, in which he responded to Kevin McCarthy's House Minority Leader's announcement that he would face Omar and Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D -Michigan), because he had criticized the Jewish state.
Clinton was one of the refrains of the critics who condemned Omar's comments.
"We should expect all elected officials regardless of the party and all public figures not to act in anti-Semitism," wrote Clinton in February.
