In Donald Trump's eyes everyone who kneels during the national anthem is a "son of a bitch." But the 45th US president could apparently use one or another elementary school lesson on the American flag.
On Thursday, Trump joined First Lady Melania Trump and Secretary for Health and Services Alex Azar for a photo Opp at the Nationwide Children's Hospital in Ohio. During the visit, President Trump spent some time with the children and painting. Then it happened.
The President added a blue stripe to the American flag.
Azar highlighted the mistake, probably unintentionally, as he tweeted photos of the event. As you can easily see, the president's flag project, partially completed, carries a distinctive blue spot right where it should not be.
(It's the third of those three pictures, the bottom right.) The opioid crisis is one of HHS's top priorities. We have taken a number of measures to support local communities. Today I joined @POTUS & @FLOTUS in Ohio to learn how states and communities respond to the challenge of opioid dependence. pic.twitter.com/NwxSoeNznA
The flag of our country may be red, white, and Blue, the 13 stripes that represent the 13 British colonies that declared their independence and became the first US states in 1776, are just red and white. The blue appears behind the 50 stars of the flag (one for each state!), In the rectangle in the upper left corner.
Before any trump supporters come out of the woodwork to cry lazy, and perhaps propose this sheet of paper, it was not the President's … there is another photograph showing that he is actually adding the blue himself.
On the one hand, everything goes in color when you sit and paint with a group of small children. Do you want to make an orange, green and purple flag? Go wild. Who cares?
On the other hand, it is the president who is protesting against the predominantly black athletes in the National Football League for daring to protest in the audition performance of the national anthem against police violence and racial inequality in America. Surely a man who knows the flag and everything he stands for should know so much where the colors are on the flag.
Sarcasm aside, it should now be clear to all observers: Trump promises only loyalty to himself. He has no idea of American values or what makes America really great (Note: immigration is a big part of it).
It's not a bit surprising to learn that the man may not know where the blue is headed for the American flag.
