Donald Trump's "Locked and Loaded" threat does not mean what you think it means?

"The oil supply in Saudi Arabia has been attacked, there is reason to believe that we know the offender, are banned and loaded, depending on the review, but we are waiting to hear from the kingdom who they believe that he was the cause of this attack, and under what conditions would we proceed! "

The tweet referred to drone strikes on Saudi oil fields – and seemed to be a clear threat that a military reaction would be imminent as soon as the culprit became clear. Finally, the words "locked and loaded" directly imply that weapons can be locked and loaded at the touch of a button.

Not only! You see, what the president meant by "closed and loaded" had nothing really to do with a threat of a military strike! Not at all!

"I think that 'Locked and Loaded' is a broad term and speaks of the reality that we are all much safer domestically and protected from the independence of energy providers," said the chief of staff of Vice President Mike Pence, Marc Short on Monday morning.

That's absolutely ridiculous, of course. When Trump said that we were "suspended and charged depending on the review," he spoke of the "realities that make us all safer domestically and more secure from independence from the energy supply"?

Come on, man. It is not even close.

Just ask Trump who tweeted this following shorts "explanation" of his "Locked and Loaded" comments:

"Remember, when Iran knowingly called a drone shot down that it was in their "airspace" when it was actually nowhere nearby, they stuck to this story, knowing that it was a very big lie, and now they say it has nothing to do with the attack on Saudi We'll see? "

" Let's see !! "

This is a government that has repeatedly tried to tell the public that what they hear and see is not that what they hear and see. Literally.

"Remember, what you see and what you read is not what happens," Trump said in July 2018. "Stay with us, do not believe the crap you see of these people False Messages. "

Short's bile of asserting that" locked and loaded "has nothing to do with a military threat is only possible in an administration and with a president who deeply believes in facts and truth has vilified. Short has the feeling that he has permission to make these outlandish claims because the big boss would say the same thing. Instead of being punished for living in unreality, Short is praised.

Take a step back and just use your gut feeling. Let's assume that Russian President Vladimir Putin was quoted as saying that Russia would be "locked and loaded" to answer if the US pushed ahead with the idea of interfering in the 2016 elections. (They did – obviously). Would you assume that Putin used a "broad term" through "Locked and Load" that did not have the potential for a military strike? Of course you would not.

What Short demands of the public is to completely disregard common sense here. We all knew that the second Trump tweeted the term "locked and loaded", which he meant. That he was ready for a military strike against Iran if it turned out that they were the authors of the drone attacks on Saudi oil. To suggest something else is ridiculous.

Unfortunately, it has become standard in this administration to do just that. And for many of Trump's strongest supporters, that's fine. They are ready to expose their common sense in support of their president. And a rocket scientist does not need to understand how slippery that slope is.
