"You never heard me say in the middle of the street," he said.

"I've never been in the middle of the road in the environment. Tell them you'll find that no one is as committed to the environment and a green revolution as I am."

Brazile said Ocasio-Cortez was "really hot "in terms of political conversation, specifically their Green New Deal proposal.

"When I say hot, I'm referring to putting some elements into our political gumbo, some ingredients that people will like, and some that they will not like," she said.

But Brazile said she does not see Biden as a "middle-of-the-roader" when it comes to the environment as the Obama administration supports the Paris Climate Agreement.

She said Biden must have his Demonstrate vision on climate change as Beto O Rourke and Jay Inslee have done.
