A winter weather report is in effect until 10 am in Metro Detroit due to icy conditions – and more will be on the road later this week.

There is a winter weather report in effect for Metro Detroit until 10 o'clock. And this is not the end of winter weather Metro Detroit will see this week, according to National Weather Service White Lake.

Wet roads of overnight rainfall, snow this morning, and temperatures falling into the 1920s have all created an icy morning commuter.

The Michigan State Police at Metro Detroit has reported "up to 30 accidents around the district" and advised drivers to drive accordingly.

Today's temperatures will reach over the freezing point until the 1940s, with partly cloudy skies today Eve. [19659011] The Detroit Tigers are expected to play at 6:40 against the Baltimore Orioles. Their last two games against the New York Yankees were postponed due to bad weather over the weekend.

After the weather service, there will be rain and snow on Wednesday evening until Thursday morning. There is a chance for smaller accumulations of snow in the northern suburbs of Detroit, although temperatures will be in their mid-40s on both days.

The temps begin to moderate and return to normal april temperatures on Friday with high temperatures in the 50s predicting the weekend ahead.

Approximately 145,000 of DTE Energy's customers are still without power, although after service for 245,000 others were restored. Power should be restored by the end of Tuesday, including most schools, according to the Associated Press.
