Dropbox is one of the most popular cloud storage platforms. In fact, many members of the AP team prefer Dropbox over Google Drive. If you try to get by with a free Dropbox account, there is a new limitation that will certainly affect your style. Starting this month, Dropbox will limit you to just three connected devices with free accounts.

Previously, you could connect any number of computers, phones, and tablets to your Dropbox account. The only restriction for free accounts was how much memory you would receive ̵

1; just 2GB without referral credit. Now you can only access this memory on a maximum of three devices at the same time. If you want to connect a new device, you must log in to the Dropbox website and remove another device.

Most free accounts already have more than three connected devices. Dropbox does not disable devices automatically, but you'll need to unlink them until you've crossed the line before you can connect something new. This can cause a lot of clicks – my account shows more than 100 connected devices and reaches back to the Nexus One.
