For Marvel's Avengers, Square Enix was not just an action-packed CG trailer. It also got a few people from developer Crystal Dynamics to talk a little bit more about the structure of the game. Interestingly, the campaign the game launches for the most part seems to be a story, but the statements made by the two on stage make it sound more like a service game.
After the game's first release on May 15, 2020, Crystal Dynamics plans to support the game by adding new superheroes, exploring new regions, and more. You can compete with other players online and customize your heroes to your liking. The team also confirmed no random loot boxes or payouts.
After digesting the information, it seems to us that Marvel's Avenger will primarily be a game similar in structure to fate. A main story to play through, alone or with friends, and then an ever-expanding world of new heroes to discover and new content to enjoy. It seems like Square Enix is putting as much as possible into this ambitious-sounding project.
