PHILADELPHIA (CBS / AP) – Eagles coach Doug Pederson expects injured starters Fletcher Cox, Brandon Brooks, Nigel Bradham, Derek Barnett and Ronald Darby to be ready for the season opener after the absence of preseason.
Bradham, the team's most reliable lineback, and 2018 All-Pro recover from his foot injuries following a playoff loss in New Orleans. Brooks, a two-time Pro Bowl rider, tore the right Achilles tendon against the saints in the same game. Barnett, a first-round player in 2017, started six games at the end of the defense before undergoing shoulder surgery at the end of the season. Darby started nine games at the corner before tearing his right-hand ACL.
The Eagles host the Washington Redskins on Sunday. The team returned to the training ground on Monday for the first time since the final before the season last Thursday.
Quarterback Carson Wentz did not pause in the preseason and most starters only played two series.
The Eagles also announced Monday that they will sign Cornerback Cre & # 39 ;, signing from LeBlanc for a one-year contract renewal, the 25-year-old remains in night green in the 2020 season.
