Eddie Redmayne among those who pay tribute to Stephen Hawking's funeration



A public funeral for the famous physicist Stephen Hawking took place on Saturday at the Great St. Mary's Church in Cambridge, with Eddie Redmayne, who won an Oscar for Hawking in "The Theory of Everything" among the paid Your respect.

Although Hawking was an outspoken atheist, his family decided to hold a traditional funeral service to pay their respects. Thousands of people gathered outside in the streets of Cambridge to watch the procession.

"Our father's life and work meant many people, religious as well as non-religious, so the service will be both inclusive and traditional, reflecting the breadth and diversity of his life," Hawking's wrote Children in a statement to The Telegraph.

"Our father lived and worked in Cambridge for over 50 years, he was an integral and very recognizable part of the university and the city, so we decided to hold his funeral in the city he loved and loved so much who loved him. "
