On election day, it rained throughout Maryland and across much of the mid-Atlantic and Southeast, and a series of potentially violent early-afternoon thunderstorms hit parts of the state Tuesday afternoon.
There are heavy rains and showers probably until the afternoon, meteorologists said. And then a cold front is expected to cross the region at noon, which offers a chance for bad weather – especially in South Maryland and on the East Coast.

The storm dangers come days after two tornadoes land in Maryland, one of them killed two workers at an Amazon warehouse near Dundalk: While forecasts indicated an external risk for bad weather, the tornadoes arrived with relatively little warning ,
