Syracuse, NY – Isaiah Stewart, one of the top rated players in the 2019 recruiting class, announced on Sunday that he will attend the University of Washington.
Stewart announced his decision during the midterm of the ESPN broadcast The Oak Hill Academy-IMG Academy game at the Hoop Hall Classic in Springfield, Massachusetts (USA).
Stewart selected Washington from a group of finalists, including Syracuse, Duke, Michigan State and Kentucky.
Stewart, a native American Rochester is currently attending La Lumiere School at Lumiere, Ind. La Lumiere will play at the Hoop Hall Classic on Monday night.
He plays AAU basketball for the Albany City Rocks and was a freshman to Joe Girard on both Buddy Boeheim and the Incoming Class of 201
Stewart is ranked by ESPN as No. 5 Prospect of the Country and No. 6 of 247 Sports and Rivals as Prospect No. 6 in the country.
Stewart made an official visit to Syracuse in October.
Alongside Girard, a 6: 2 guard from Glens Falls, New York, Syracuse's recruiting class currently includes Quincy Guerrier, a 6-7 forward from Quebec City; Brycen Goodine, a 6-4 guard at St. Andrews in Barrington, California, USA; and John Bol Ajak, a 6-10 center at the Westtown School in West Chester, Pennsylvania.
