The day after Christmas, Elon Musk brought good news about e-cars, the Tesla Model 3 and the supercharger network. "Most people are unaware that the Tesla Supercharger network enables easy long-distance travel to the US, most of Europe, Canada and China," he tweeted.

Do you know another company that gives people a list of its competitors? We searched our archive in the basement of the CleanTechnica World Headquarters and could not find any. We store all the important files near the air-conditioned room, where we keep the Vueve Clicquot Yellow Label champagne we serve after our weekly squash match.

Now that Model 3 is on its way to Europe, interested buyers are curious about Tesla and Elon Musk have their sleeves to expand the Supercharger system on the old continent. Paul Kelly, who lives in Ireland and expects delivery of a new Model X in two weeks, asked Elon this question directly and received the following answer:

Europe? Tesla has you covered. Texas too

This of course set the faithful on fire. Alejandro Zuboff tweeted from Texas and asked for coverage in his state.

Jim Roger Johansen wanted to know if the coastal highway was in the north of the country. Norway would soon have a supercharger station and received a "Yep" from Elon ,

Other Chargers News

While most manufacturers are considering building charging networks for their electric cars – assuming they ever build – Tesla provides their own vehicles with money where their mouths are.

The takeaway Tesla does more than any other company in the world to make loading an EV easy and convenient. Yes, free charge is a thing of the past or will be soon, but the company has been saying all along that it's not intended to charge a profit center. Even if people have to pay for the electricity they consume, it still costs about half of the gasoline to travel a certain distance.

When it comes to electric cars, Tesla is the king of the mountain. Everyone else just plays Follow The Leader.
