Parkland school designer Emma Gonzalez did not seem to be interested in Kanye West's praise.
A few days after the 40-year-old rapper tweeted about his support for President Donald Trump, West shared a photo of Gonzalez and described her on Saturday as "my hero."
In a second post, West shared a selfie that showed he was humming his hair. He titled the tweet "Inspired by Emma".
Gonzalez, who had openly rebuked Trump and demanded for stricter gun laws in the country since Douglas High School on February 14, which killed 17 people, did not return West's compliment. She copied the format of West's Tweet and paid tribute to James Shaw Jr., who attacked a sniper who opened fire on April 22 at a Tennessee Waffle House restaurant and was likely to save lives by ripping the assault rifle from the attacker's hands ,
Although West said he "does not agree with everything Trump does" the entertainer called the president his "brother" and later resigned with a "Make America Great Again" baseball cap. "You do not have to agree with Trump [sic]but the mob can not make me love it, we're both dragon energy, it's my brother," he wrote. I do not agree with everything anyone does, it makes us individuals, and we have the right to independent thinking. "
Trump responded to West's message and responded on Twitter: "Thanks Kanye, very cool!"
"I know Kanye a bit I get along with Kanye I honestly get along with lots of people," the president said during a telephone interview with Fox and Friends . "Kanye sees, and he sees black unemployment at its lowest in the history of our country, okay? He sees Hispanic unemployment at its lowest in the history of our country, by the way, and he sees unemployment among women as the lowest in nearly 19 years
The President continued, "He sees this, and he's smart." He says, "Trump does a much better job than the Democrats."
