Epic apologizes for the dog pet with new skin color, refund possible

Developer Epic Games recently released a new pet named Gunner at Fortnite: Battle Royale, and fans quickly pointed out that the little Doggo is basically a redesigned version of a previously released dog, Bonesy. Now Epic has responded to the message, claiming it made a mistake in publishing Gunner.

The company will grant reimbursements to all buyers of Gunner, and in an attempt to offset the problem, Epic also gives players who bought Gunner 200 free V-Bucks. In addition, Gunner will be completely deleted from Fortnite.

"We should not have released the Gunner Pet and apologized for it, and within the next few days all Gunner purchases will be reimbursed for the full amount of 1

000 bucks, as well as additional 200 V bucks and the pet will be taken out of the locker ", according to a statement by Epic.

Players who bought Gunner and used Fortnite's in-game refund tools to get a refund will receive the 200 free V-Bucks plus an additional refund bonus.

As comparison photos show, Gunner was just a simple Reskin of Bonesy with a lighter skin tone and a few small tricks like a skull logo on his scarf. In addition to the controversy Bonesy was originally exclusive to the Battle Pass Season 6. Epic had promised that items in Battle Passes would never be sold individually. When Epic started selling Gunner, the Bonesy clone, people were upset that Epic seemed to fulfill his promise.
