Epic Games presents an impressive next-generation physics and destruction system in Unreal Engine 4.23 | DSOGaming

At GDC 2019, Epic Games showcased some of the most impressive next-generation physics and destruction systems coming to the latest version of Unreal Engine 4. As Epic Games noted, chaos is the new high-performance physics and destruction of Unreal Engine. The system is made in early access to the Unreal Engine 4.23.

The real-time tech demo is embedded in the world of Robo Recall, and with chaos, users can achieve real-time scenes with massive destruction in cinema quality with unparalleled control of the artist over the creation of content.

To be honest, the beginning of this tech demo reminded me of the lobby scene in The Matrix (so I think that's a good thing). However, the demolition of the buildings towards the end of the video gave me a sense of the next generation. I guess these new systems will only be used for next generation titles. I mean, the Xbox One X can not provide this destruction with the power of the cloud, as we saw in Crackdown 3.

This demo looks really amazing, so have a look!
