President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan was greeted by his Uzbek counterpart Shavkat Mirziyoyev in the capital Tashkent on 30 April, the state Anadolu agency said.
Erdogan is on a three-day official visit to Uzbekistan, the agency said.
An official ceremony took place in the capital where the national anthems of both countries were played before the official talks began.
During his stay, the Turkish President will discuss bilateral, economic and political relations with Mirziyoyev.
He will also speak with the Uzbek Parliament and participate with Mirziyoyev in the Economic Forum Turkey-Uzbekistan.
The President is accompanied by a large delegation, including his wife Emine Erdogan, Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu, Minister of Culture and Tourism Numan Kurtulmuş, Minister of Economy Nihat Zeybekci, Intelligence Chief Hakan Fidan, Deputy Prime Minister Hakan Çavuşoğlu, Minister of Justice Abdulhamit Gül, Science, Industry and Technology Minister Faru k Özlü, Labor and Social Affairs Minister Jülide Sarıeroğlu, Customs and Trade Minister Bülent Tüfenkçi and Presidential Spokesman İbrahim Kalın
