Allegedly developed by the same team behind the Remastern
Sega once worked on a remake of Shenmue and possibly Shennmue II according to a Eurogamer report.
The remake was supposed to be in development for a while before being canceled due to budget constraints and development delays.

The video obtained by Eurogamer also contains shots of Shenmue II suggesting that remakes in both titles were in development. While the improvements for Shenmue II appear lower in the video, it may be because it was in early development. Improvements include improved texture details and the addition of shadow maps to the environment.
