BRUSSELS – European activists protest against US President Donald Trump's upcoming NATO appearance marching through the Belgian capital argue for less military spending and more public money for schools and clean energy.
The march of "Trump Not Welcome" and an accompanying concert are coming as European and North American leaders prepare to meet at the NATO headquarters in Brussels for an annual summit. Trump calls on NATO allies to increase military spending and accuses them of not doing enough to defend themselves.
The organizers of the march reject more military spending. Activists working to shut down coal and nuclear power plants, an end to racism and sexism, and ending austerity programs that harm the poor participated on Saturday.
