(KPRC) The keto diet has become the latest weight loss trend.
Some critics say that the diet does not have stamina, but a Houston doctor says that if people with metabolic problems can be disciplined enough to diet, their health improves.
The diet consists of almost no carbohydrates, only 20-30 grams a day. Dr. Steffanie Campbell of the Kelsey-Seybold Clinic says the average American has about 40 grams per meal.
Instead of carbohydrates, keto promotes a lot of fattening diet. Believe it or not, foods like sausage, eggs, ranch dressing and cheese help people like Jiu Jitsu coach Michael Tracy lose weight.
