FBI joins the search for a missing teenager in Monroe County

MONROE COUNTY, Tennessee (ABC News) – After two weeks of searching for a missing 14-year-old girl from Tennessee, federal and local governments are seeking public support.

The parents of Savannah Leigh Pruitt use visceral metaphors to describe the depths of their agony, and ask the public to collect the days they have gone.

"It's like having your soul ripped from your body," said Randall Pruitt in a press conference with the authorities on Friday. "You can not think, you can not eat, you can not sleep, you can not rest ̵

1; life has stopped for us since she left."

The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has joined the Sheriff Office of Monroe County (MCSO) and the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation (TBI) to search for the missing teenager, who last visited her home on January 13 Madisonville, Tennessee, according to the FBI and local authorities.

"At this point, we really need the eyes and ears of the community," said a MCSO detective on Friday.

According to Randall Pruitt, the Pruitt family returned from Lawrenceville, GA, to Madisonville at the end of December, which opened with his wife, Savannah's mother, Christina Pruitt, on Friday through his daughter.

Savannah loves horses, her pet raccoon and other farm animals, her parents said on Friday that the girl's parents the only time managed to crack a smile through tears as they talked about her daughter's love for the family business.

"We are very heartbroken," said Christina Pruitt on Friday from her eldest of her four children. "I miss her, I do not understand … none of us understand it."

"We love her very much and we want her to be home – I love you and come home," the Pruitt parents said, finishing all the other sentences.

"We're asking for public support in finding Savannah Leigh Pruitt," Sheriff Tommy Jones said in the post. "If anyone has information about Miss Pruitt's whereabouts, please contact the Sheriff's Office at 423-442-3911 (423-442-HELP) or the TBI at 1-800-TBI-FIND. "

A Dispatcher at The Monroe Sheriff's Office told ABC News that the detective was not available to discuss the case, but the FBI confirmed in a press release this week that the agency was involved in the case.

Pruitt is 5 feet and 3 inches tall, 110 pounds and over has blond hair and blue eyes.

"She may have traveled to the Corbin KY area," said MCSO's Facebook post.
