Field Report: Alabama begins preparing for Arkansas

Alabama practiced Monday afternoon and worked on a rainy day in Tuscaloosa.

Here are some notes from the short observation period:

– As expected, Tua Tagovailoa was not in training.

"The expectation is that he will not be burdened for a few days and will then be able to return if his rehab allows him," Nick Saban said Monday morning. "We are confident that in 1

0 days he will be able to carry out an active rehab and we will see how things continue from there." But these things are pretty unpredictable at this point.

– Offensive Coordinator Steve Sarkisian was next to Mac Jones as the quarterbacks went through an exercise at the beginning of the media watch phase. Jones, scheduled to play Arkansas on Saturday, was 6 out of 11 for 72 yards against Tennessee on Saturday.

"We have great confidence in Mac," Saban said. "After a week's preparation, he will probably do much better in this game."

– Substitute corner Josh Jobe was back in training after not being dressed for the game against Tennessee.

– Left Guard Evan Neal seemed to go through exercises as normal. Neal left the game in Tennessee for a short time with an injury, but later returned to the game.
