Flu protection clinics will be held around the Valley this week




MAHONING COUNTY, Ohio –

The Department of Health of the Mahoning District is holding flu shots this week in various locations in the valley.

The clinics will be held in the following locations:

Everyone is welcome in these clinics and no appointment is required conducive. The district health department will settle insurances and the insured, driving licenses, Medicaid and Medicare cards will need to be brought. The flu vaccine is free with proof of insurance.

Flu vaccines are available for children from 6 months, adults over 65 and from 2 years to 49 years. The nasal spray vaccine will be available in limited quantities.

The CDC recommends that every 6 months and older get a flu vaccine every season. People at high risk for flu-like complications include children aged 6 months to 2 years, adults 65 and older, pregnant women and women up to 2 weeks after birth, residents of nursing homes and other long-term care facilities and those with chronic medical conditions
