Google Maps has always been good at tracking down things. For the April Fool's joke, it helps the world to find Waldo, the elusive star of the book series Where's Waldo.
You can update your app Maps on your smartphone or go to the Google Maps desktop version to get started. Keep an eye out for the candy-striped buddy who beckons toward you from the side of the screen, click on him and hit Play for a global adventure.
Waldo is not alone on Google Maps. His friends Wenda, the dog Woof and Wizard Whitebeard are there. The wicked villain Odlaw is also hiding.
The game will take you to different locations where you have to sneak through Waldo's illustrations to find all the characters.
Google encourages players to share their Waldo Fund exploits by tagging @GoogleMaps and using the hashtag #WaldoMaps on Twitter and Instagram.
