The Ford Mustang of the current generation has advanced the pony car game in various ways. Independent rear suspension, 10-speed auto-speakers and an efficient turbocharged four-cylinder engine have made it a far more powerful sports car than ever before. This 310 hp turbo four-engine was so good that it was the base-displaced V6 engine from the line-up in 2018. What was missing, however, was a mid-size engine that narrowed the gap between the 460 hp 5 , 0-liter V8 and the 460 hp engine should close. That could be filled for the 2020 Mustang as Hagerty's recently filed National Highway Traffic Safety Administration's vehicle identification number features two variants of the well-known 2.3-liter turbo four in the upcoming engine range.
