Will Apple Turn Things Upside Down With the Ugly iPhone Redesign of 2019 Now a Ice Cold Certainty A truly surprising report shows that Apple is developing a completely different iPhone that millions will want.

Popular Chinese Website Global Times announces the groundbreaking news that Apple is launching a new, budget-friendly iPhone that drops facial recognition in favor of a built-in Touch ID fingerprint sensor. The phone will first be launched in China, but it could become a worldwide hit.

Little is known about the iPhone at this time. However, the Global Times source states that the motivation for the phone is "saving costs" when it comes to regaining Chinese market share. In recent years, the local brands Huawei, Oppo and Vivo have taken control by combining state-of-the-art designs with prices that greatly undercut Apple's iPhones.

The move would be useful. Global Times notes that over 85% of the Chinese market accounts for smartphones priced below 4,000 yuan ($ 580). Earlier, Apple covered this market with the iPhone SE when it came on the market for only $ 399. However, the company's strategy of filling the gap with multi-generation iPhones does not seem to work.

Apple's 2020 iPhones Will Change Significantly Compared to Current Models – Rendering Based on Leaks

In addition, Apple has developed the technology that makes such an iPhone possible. Since December, Apple has filed no less than five ( 1 2 3 4 5 .) In-Display Touch ID patents, including clashes with photography and information showing that the technology may not only scan your fingerprint but model it in 3D .

How much should we trust the Global Times? Given that the message is a shock, it is wise to exercise caution and no date is set for the device to start. However, insiders have already announced that the touch ID on the display next to the Face ID will also fall back on the iPhone from 2020 (and the designs of look stunning ). With the Macbook Pro and the MacBook Air Touch ID has also begun its renaissance.

There are two very different reasons to want something to happen, and indeed that it actually happens. However, I have little doubt that a low-cost iPhone with built-in Touch-ID would be a global success. And since 2019 is now clearly the wrong year for upgrading your iPhone it can not hurt to wait and see how it changes.
