FORT CAMPBELL, Ky. – Fort Campbell officials report that a 19-year-old soldier from Georgia died in the army post during a weapons training
The post along the Kentucky-Tennessee border says Pvt. 2nd grade Jeremy J. Wells suffered fatal injuries on Wednesday during training in the small arms sector. He was taken to the Blanchfield Army Community Hospital at Fort Campbell, where he died.
Officials say that no other soldiers were injured.
Wells, of Adairsville, Georgia, was an aircraft electrician in the 101st Combat Aviation Brigade. He joined the army in 2017 and completed training in South Carolina and Virginia before arriving at Fort Campbell in 201
Lt. Col. Cayton Johnson says the brigade has lost "an incredible member" of their group, saying that "thoughts and prayers" are with Well's family.
The incident is being investigated.
