After months of delay, Jetpacks have their long awaited debut in Fortnite: Battle Royale. The items come on PS4, Xbox One, PC and iOS as part of the 4.2 content update, but despite their extended gestation period they will not be around for very long.
Unlike most other articles Epic has recently added In Fortnite, Jetpacks will only be available in the game for a limited time. The developer did not specify how long they'll appear, but you have to be pretty happy to get one because it's a legendary item that can only be found in treasure chests.
Jetpacks are the first in a new series of items that Epic introduces into the game: backpacks. Unlike the Back Bling cosmetics that were added earlier this year, backpacks pick up an inventory slot like other weapons and items. Players can only pick one backpack at a time; If you grab a second, it replaces the one you already carry. Your backpack will also be automatically destroyed as soon as it is completely used up.
Jetpacks are activated by jumping in the air; However, you can only stay in the air for a limited time before you need to recharge. Fortunately, the Jetpack starts to load automatically when not in use. You will also be unable to enter the targeting mode during the flight.
Epic has launched a new limited-time event in Battle Royale: Solid Gold v2 alongside the Jetpacks. This marks the second iteration of the mode, and still the only weapons he labels are of the legendary sort. Another limited-time mode called "Close Encounters" is also scheduled to appear "soon" in the game and is about "melee" with shotguns and jetpacks.
