Fortnite meteorites began to drop earlier this week, causing many fans to believe that the legendary attack on Tilted Towers could finally be imminent. However, a recent leak suggests that Tilted Towers is not the target of the main meteorite. The information was first published by Internetadam on the Battle Royale subreddit on Monday evening, but has since been deleted. Fortunately, Fornite insiders managed to hold on to the thread before it was mined.
First and foremost, the leak provides credibility by predicting the season 4 superhero theme three days before its official unveiling on Thursday. It is said that the upcoming Battle Pass will include at least two Hero skins and two Villain skins based entirely on Epic's own ideas. If true, it's possible that previous speculation about DC's involvement in Season 4 is wrong.
Confirmed with some accuracy from the source, we come to the true Story Behind the Leak – This particular thread suggests that the big meteor will hit Dusty Depot instead of Tilted Towers, and Epic has reportedly been making changes to Dusty for some time now, so they'll use the meteor as an excuse to rebuild. Additional card changes are expected throughout season 4. For example, Moisty Mire is expected to have completely disappeared by the end of season 4. The goal is to turn the Battle Royale card into something; as constantly changing. As places like Moisty Mire and Dusty Depot change, players will be able to watch the progress of construction progressively as new structures appear. The source says that's something Epic's developers wanted them to do when they added tilted towers.
If this leak is to be believed, it offers an interesting look at Fortnite Future in Season 4 and beyond. Players have been wondering for a long time if we'll ever get a second Battle Royale card, but claims like this indicate that it will not be necessary. Rather than designing a completely new space, Epic can save time and development resources by making adjustments to the arena that already exists.
At the time of writing, meteorites continue to cause players on the Battle Royale map. The large meteor near Tilted Towers remains exposed. At this point, it's pretty safe to assume that the biggest event will be at the end of season 3 or the beginning of season 4. Once we change our calendars to May, we may never look at the Battle Royale Island in the same way again. Leaks like these should always be taken with a grain of salt, but the ideas mentioned here sound very plausible.
There is no announced start date or time for Season 4. If the last season gives an indication, fans can probably get an update and expect a new Battle Pass on or about May 1st.
Fortnite is in early access via PS4, Xbox One, PC and iOS
