Fortnite's Meteor saga seems to be nearing its peak. After innocently adorning the skies in Battle Royale in recent weeks, several players have reportedly plunged meteors into the island.
Videos like the ones below have found their way into social media and Reddit. Small meteors stream down from the sky and collide with the ground, destroying everything on their way – whether it's part of the island or a player structure. It is unclear at this point whether the meteors would actually damage a player if someone is unfortunately hit by one, but it is probably only a matter of time before we find out.
Nothing has happened beyond them Developments – they do not leave aliens or have any other impact. Meteors that eventually collapsed seemed inevitable when it was discovered that sound effects directly related to them were included in the game files of a recent update.
There does not seem to be any rhyme or reason where the meteors land. While the video above shows a tipping tower, they have also fallen elsewhere. Fans have speculated that tipped towers would be demolished by a large meteor, something Epic confirmed in the 3.6 update. But until now, the map has not changed in any way by meteors that are finally starting to set up.
This week saw an emergency broadcast on televisions in the game, and Epic has teased that something will develop. In the meantime, the first image for Season 4 was also offered, and it suggests that it could be superhero themes. It remains to be seen how it will be with the meteors or speculation about aliens ̵
