Found another star with a mysterious glow

Scientists have found a new star whose brightness changes in an unusual way. The most famous object is the so-called "Star Tabby", in which astronomers explained the various hypotheses up to the astroengineering structures of the aliens. The results will be published on the preprint server arXiv.org.

This star is bigger and hotter than the sun, but above all interesting because of its radiation, which has mysteriously changed: it became pale and flared up without regularity. Scientists have suggested many reasons that might explain these Aulani, such as the alien megastructure, huge dust clouds, and huge swarms of comets.

In the new work, the astronomers write about another star named VVV-WIT-07, whose brightness is also in strange areas. Observations that ran from 2010 to 2018 years show no patterns in the brightness changes, but they sometimes decrease by 80%, while the Star Tabby drops to only 20%, which is very much for such lights.

There is another star with an unusual brightness change – J1407, which is also called the "Mamaduka object" on behalf of explorer Eric Mamajek. In 2012 it was found that the brightness of this object is reduced by 95%. These changes, however, can be traced back to the periodic pattern that could explain the existence of satellites of large planets or brown dwarfs with an incredibly extensive ring system hundreds of times larger than that of Saturn.

The discovery of several stars with unusual brightness variations suggests that they are relatively common. However, some astronomers doubt the true similarity of VVV-WIT-07 and KIC 8462852. The fact that the star of Tabby is old enough and may not be a private activity while VVV-WIT-07 is young and therefore can make big changes in brightness be linked with internal processes. Along the line of sight of VVV-WIT-07 is also much more galactic dust, which also strongly distorts the light. The authors of the new work hope to obtain observation time on large telescopes in order to obtain more detailed information about the radiation of the object.
