The founder of an African-American history museum in Louisiana was found dead in the trunk of a car on Friday afternoon, the police said. The cause of death for Sadie Roberts-Joseph, who was an icon in the Baton Rouge community, is unknown, but two local officials said she was murdered.
The police found the body of 75-year-old Roberts-Joseph in a car about 6 km from her home. The authorities did not say what led to the discovery of their body.
In 2001, Roberts-Joseph founded the Museum of African American History by Odell S. Williams Now & Then, now known as the Baton Rouge African-American History Museum.
