From Spider-Man to Superman, 7 famous American superheroes currently portrayed by British actors

Between the Marvel Cinematic Universe and the DC Extended Universe, fans have a lot of great superhero films to enjoy. Despite their American origins, English actors play the leading roles in some of the greatest comic book adaptations. Here are seven American superheroes currently portrayed by British actors.

1. Henry Cavill as Superman

After being sent to Earth by his home planet Krypton as a baby, Clark Kent grew up on a farm in a small fictional American town called Smallville. In the comics he becomes Superman, but still lives his double life as a journalist in the big fictional American city of Metropolis.
