BEATRICE – Cancer survivors gathered on a perfect day of weather on the Gage County Fairgrounds Saturday to celebrate the overcoming of the disease and to remember those whose lives suffered from cancer.
Ron Cullison, a member of the Nebraska Baseball Hall of Fame, is a survivor of liver cancer after undergoing transplantation after years of battle and eventually conquering hepatitis C.

Cullison wrote his wife Linda and his sons Gary to and Jason with their support … and his baseball mentor … former Beatrice Bruins manager Bob Steinkamp. Cullison said he was involved in baseball, taught him to be competitive.

The Beatrice YMCA is coming in Lead a pilot program for wellness for cancer patients.
