Galaxy Fold's release has been postponed as Samsung investigates breaking screens

Samsung's besieged Galaxy Fold will not start on April 26th. After several incidents with screens had disabled early production test units last week, Samsung announced on Monday that it would delay the Friday scheduled sales date of its foldable phone, which says there will be a new release date "in the next few weeks " announce.

. Initial results of verifying the problems shown on the display showed that they might be related to the top and the system. The hinges are at the bottom. There were also cases where substances inside the device affected the display performance, "Samsung said in a statement." In order to fully evaluate this feedback and conduct further internal testing, we decided to launch the Galaxy Fold

The company also sent emails to users who pre-ordered the device ̵

1; including the CNET testers – who said it would "update them with more specific shipping information in two weeks." Samsung charges the fold not with credit cards until it's delivered, and the brand will also drop in pre-orders if they want to change their mind and cancel the order before shipping.

News of the delayed release of the phone was reported Monday by The Wall Street Journal. This report follows a tweet by Engadget's Richard Lai on Sunday about the postponement of launch events in Hong Kong and Shanghai, which were originally scheduled for Tuesday and Wednesday. More Mobile Tipster Ice Universe confirmed on Sunday the postponement of "two events" – presumably the launch events – and suggested pushing back the phone's deliveries itself. SamMobile reported on Sunday that Samsung attributed the event's delay to problems with the venue in Shanghai. He quoted "someone who claims to be familiar with the matter."

Fold's plastic screen incidents – including a screen curvature and a flickering display – have led to a Kerfuffle among the spectators who doubt the durability of Samsung's $ 2,000 foldable phone and the concept of pliable Devices in general.

CNET's Galaxy Fold tester remained intact and we had contact with Samsung because of the reported screen issues.

Samsung's Galaxy Fold issues began Wednesday, two days after a few test equipment had been distributed to appraisers, including CNET.

Reviewers found that removing the plastic film from the Galaxy Wall's 7.3-inch inner wall, which consists of a thin sheet of flexible plastic rather than glass, immediately rendered the phone unusable. Another discovered that the left half of the Galaxy Fold was flickering heavily, and another noticed a camber under the screen that noticeably distorted the image of the screen, possibly through debris that was under the display.

"While many reviewers shared with us the tremendous potential they see, some have also shown us that the device needs further enhancements to ensure the best possible user experience," Samsung said Monday. "We will take action to strengthen the screen protector and we will also improve the screen care and use guidelines, including the protective layer, to help our customers get the most from their Galaxy Fold."
