With the latest Samsung Unpacked event has been announced (see Android Circuit last week) The next building block is the release date for the new Galaxy S1

0 phones, which has been widely reported, although this still needs confirmation, and I have the dates for the new Galaxy S10 phones Your Diary Announced Earlier This Week:

Galaxy S10 – Limitation specifications and functions

There is now some discussion about the core specifications in the Galaxy S10 family, and questions about the amount of memory and memory that Samsung offers n could the South Korean company keep costs low instead of nailing the technical data sheets? Gordon Kelly of Forbes:

The new flat-panel Galaxy S10 Lite offers only 4GB of RAM and a maximum of 128GB of memory. The Galaxy S10 has 6GB of RAM and up to 256GB of storage, while the Galaxy S10 Plus boasts 6GB / 128GB and 8GB 256/512 GB options, but still compares to the new top dogs from Samsung fades.

… Interestingly, this means that the new Galaxy range will be surpassed by much cheaper smartphones in 2019. In particular, the OnePlus 6T McLaren and the Lenovo Z5 Pro (announced as early as 2018) have 10GB and 12GB of RAM, respectively, for nearly half of the expected price of the Galaxy S10.

Nokia 9 PureView Release Date

It looks like the Nokia 9 PureView camera with its five-lens camera started just before MWC to get some momentum before the bigger ones Guns arrive. And that could mean it could go hand in hand with the Galaxy S10:

HMD Global would not be the only manufacturer to follow this approach. Samsung announced its last unpacked event (presumably for the launch of the Galaxy S10 family) on February 20, the week before the MWC. These two preview events will allow the S10 and Nokia 9 to launch on other handsets on the MWC platform, but it also represents an interesting media lens.

The Galaxy S10 and the Nokia 9 PureView are many how is it going head-to-head? Samsung will be presented as the larger "Goliath" with multiple variants at high prices, while HMD Global will be presented as the daring little "David" with an innovative device. The Penta Lens camera is a simple hardware story that can be sold, the price is consumer connectivity, and the fabulous return of the Nokia name should be good for at least one more spin around the MWC block.

Xiaomi Mi Mix 3 under duress

Xiaomi's Mi Mix 3 answers the forward facing camera issue with no notch, bezel or pothole … but with a full-body glider that exposes the camera , It looks smooth and feels comforting, but how durable it is. JC Torres finds out:

Almost all phones, especially high-end phones, are covered with glass on both sides. Be it Corning Gorilla Glass 5 or 6, the front of the Mi Mix 3 is protected from most keys and blades. Somewhat surprisingly, the back of the phone is made of ceramic glass, which is even more resistant to deeper scratches.

The actual test is of course the bending test. As two halves slide on one another, there is definitely a concern that structural integrity may not be optimal. But lo and behold, the Mi Mix 3 survives with a little flex. The OPPO Find X with its motorized upper part did not mean that well.

For complete results, see SlashGear. JerryRigAlles also began attacking the handset …

Early OnePlus 7 Design Leak

With a six-month turnaround on flagship smartphones, the next OnePlus handset is always near the cornerstone and vulnerable to leaks. So it is possible that we have seen our first picture of the OnePlus 7. GizChina reports:

In this picture, which comes from China, we see the alleged OnePlus 7 next to the current OnePlus 6T. The latter has the already seen waterdrop notch, while the other device is free from interruptions. In addition, it seems that the latter have a larger display, although the lower half is unfortunately missing in the photo. Obviously, it could be another phone, like Xiaomi Mi MIX 3 or Honor Magic 2.

More at GizChina, and I've been thinking more about how much a OnePlus 7 without Notch is here on Forbes.

And finally …

What's coming next? for Android? Thanks to a study of an early build of Android Q, the visual response could be a darker mode. Mehedi Hassan reports:

The most important new feature seems to be a new, system-wide dark mode for Android. The new Dark mode will introduce a dark theme for the entire operating system, which has been in demand for both Android and iOS for a long time. Although companies like OnePlus have already had similar experiences with their custom version of Android, the common Android experience that powers Google Pixel phones and other devices has never had a system-wide Dark mode. The new Dark mode can also be equipped with an option that can automatically enforce Dark mode on apps that do not have a Dark mode.
