Today, November 16, is the first day of the annual Final Fantasy XIV fan festival. During the keynote, game director Naoki Yoshida announced that the much anticipated new expansion of the game is called Shadowbringers and will be released in the summer of 2019.
The story of the expansion will include your character, the Warrior of Light, joining six Confederate nations fighting the Garlean Empire. This fight will force the Warrior of Light to become the Warrior of Darkness – the reason for this important plot point is revealed in Patch 4.5. Two new areas to be included in the expansion are Rak-Tika Greatwood and Amh Araeng, as well as nine new dungeons and a new high-level raid series appearing mage-job. It is called "limited work" because it is not associated with a particular class. The level cap for the class is set to level 50, but Shadowbringers increases the level cap to 80. The Blue Mage job was first shown in Final Fantasy V ] is a role that allows you to perform attacks of monsters and enemies against them. The statistics, use and performance of Blue Mages vary widely as their performance depends on the skills they learn from enemies.
The last big announcement was the discovery of a new breed. The new breed is added in Shadowbringers and is added last by Yoshida. It's understandable, since creating and running a new race is a difficult task for the team. If true, this means that Final Fantasy XIV will have a total of seven playable races from next summer. They have not indicated what the new race will be, but they gave a clear indication of the new race, the Viera. The Viera is a hare introduced in Final Fantasy Tactics Advance . Because of her bunny-like appearance, Yoshida wore a Bugs Bunny shirt and showed it to the audience playfully.
