Angel died Friday in Princeton, New Jersey, according to The New York Times. No cause of death was known. Angel, famed for her helium-high voice and her sunny demeanor, played Ted Baxter's ditzy girlfriend Georgette in The Mary Tyler Moore Show which joined the show in 1972 and stayed at the show until the series finale of 1977 Georgette married Ted and Angel received a pair of Emmy nominations in the role. She continued to join her Mary Tyler Moore Show co-star Betty White on White's self-titled CBS sitcom, and played a notable role as Howard's wife Shirley in the ABC Comedy Coach ,
More recently, Engel joined the cast of the CBS hit. Everybody Loves Raymond as Robert's mother-in-law Pat. From 2003 to 2005, he received three Emmy nominations for an outstanding guest actress in a comedy series. Angel returns with White again at TV Lands Hot in Cleveland along with appearances on Passions The Office and two and a half men . Her last TV role was a second season episode of Netflix One Day at a Time .
