Six are left, but only one is named the winner of season 36 of "Survivor" at the end of the May 23 episode. Here's going on!
Angela Perkins, Sebastian Noel, Donathan Hurley, Laurel Johnson, Wendell Holland Jr. and Domenick Abbate are the remaining six contestants who claim for $ 1 million Survivor: Ghost Island – win and there are many benefits that are still in play. Sebastian has an extra voice, while Wendell and Domenick have both immunity idols hidden in their pockets and Dom also has a false idol with which he can outsmart someone.
After last week's tribe, Dom and Wendell are suspicious that Donathan is no longer loyal to their alliance with Laurel, but they may still be unwilling to turn it off. They are discussing that Sebastian should go to the next election (as a spectator, this is quite a baffle: Sebastian did not do much of the whole game and should be a shoe-in to finish it off and flipping it). Obviously, gaining immunity at this time is very big. In the immunity challenge, players have to navigate through a huge maze and then solve a difficult puzzle at the end.
It's a close ending, but Wendell gains immunity. However, he has a tough decision to make: select only two people to join him for a steak dinner reward. Wendell decides to go with Sebastian (to compensate him for the beloved rewards) and Angela (because she has not eaten lately). Well, at least that's what he says. However, Laurel sees Wendell and questions her ally's decision to fuel Angela. Worrying Wendell is ready to attack her, she claims she's ready to go after the big dogs once and for all.
At the rewards Wendell, Sebastian and Angela agree to vote Donathan, but Sebastian has that extra voice in his back pocket and is ready to vote Domenick. He fills Angela and Donathan with the plan to use the extra voice, and everything should go smoothly ̵
In the tribal council, Dom makes clear the fact that he knows all about the plan to use the extra voice. He pulls out two immunity idols, but of course we view viewers that only one of them is real. Before voting, Dom Jeff gives his counterfeit immunity idol, and it's up to the tribe to decide if they believe it actually has power or not. Once everyone has chosen, Dom shares the truth about the idol, but reveals that he will make a $ 1 million gamble by NOT playing his real one. Was he convincing enough? It turns out that his acting has done the trick, and Sebastian is voted out. He also did not use the extra voice, and that advantage is damned!
At the next immunity challenge players must overcome water and obstacles and then solve a puzzle. Wendell wins the challenge and guarantees a place in the last four. This vote is also the last chance for him to use his hidden immunity idol so he has the opportunity to play it for someone else. Dom also has an immunity idol and guarantees a place in the last four.
It's time to think ahead: In the last four, the one who wins the immunity wins a person he brings to the last three battles for the last place in a fire contest. Laurel is Dom's and Wendell's biggest threat to immunity challenges, so Dom wants her out because he does not want to risk putting that decision in her hands. Wendell and Laurel are tight so he has to decide if he's really ready to attack them – and he has a lot of power with that extra idol.
Obviously, Dom plays his idol for himself, but then Wendell drops a bomb: he plays his for Laurel. He admits to the tribe that it may not be the most strategic decision, but he says he joins Laurel because she reminds him of his sister, and he does not want to break the promises he made her. In the end, it did not matter … because the voices are all going to Donathan and he's being sent home.
It was a wise strategic decision by Wendell. Now the jury knows how loyal he was to Laurel all the time. In addition, if Laurel wins the last four immunities, he will have an impact on why she should bring him to the end. In the final immunity challenge, players have to stack six balls while balancing on a wobbly platform. Dom wins the challenge and gets a seat in the last tree.
Wendell knows that there is no chance Dom brings him into the last three, no matter how close they are, so he's ready to fire. Dom has a decision to make: Will Laurel or Angela have a better chance of beating Wendell on fire so they can get Wendell out of the threat of the last three? Admittedly, Laurel is not good at making a fire and urges him to let Angela do it.
Dom, however, proposes another plan: What if he gives immunity to one of the girls and opposes Wendell himself ? He admits that it would be a huge game of chance, but he is confident in his firing and says victory would probably cement him as the winner in the eyes of the jury. It's all just a ruse – Dom takes Laurel to go to the last three and let Ang and Dom compete in the fire contest.
Wendell wins the Fire Contest and we are officially nominated because what could be the most epic tribal affiliation and election of all time? It seems that Dom and Wendell are really head to head. So the players tried to convince themselves at the last tribal ceremony:
Laurel: Laurel argues that she was down from the beginning, after she was put on Malolo, and she played a strong social game herself vote with Dom and Wendell. Although the jury is not happy that she has not taken a big step and gets the boys out, if she could, she points out that the move was good for the jury … not her. If she had chosen Wendell and Dom earlier, she would have gone next. Keeping her was her only shot in the last three. She also ensures that the jury knows she was the catalyst for many of Dom and Wendell's decisions, not the other way around.
Wendell: Wendell defends his relationship with those on the jury, insisting that he, like Dom, was in contact with them in a less conspicuous manner. He attributes himself to drawing Laurel into his alliance with Dom, though Donathan points out that this was actually Dom's move. Various jury members agree that Dom was the mastermind who joined them except Sebastian, who says it was Wendell. He explains that he proved loyalty by giving his idol to Laurel and thinks he was playing a strategic, clean game.
Dom: Dom apologizes for the flashy way he went about the Sebastian vote from his fake idol, and states that he never stands out in the game as cocky and arrogant wanted. He also points out how big a step for him is to use this false idol, and asks the jury to choose who played the best game which he considers him.
The voices go back and forth between Dom and Wendell until they reach 5. Just because. Now it's up to Laurel to cast the deciding vote whoever wins $ 1 million. And she brings … WENDELL! Congratulations!
