Go inside … or outside … making Fallout 3

Shesez's Boundary Break series on YouTube picks up a hot topic this weekend: Fallout. As he pierces the fourth, fifth, and sixth (ad infinitium) walls, Shesez reveals many details that are somehow not canonical, but when they are in play, are they canonical?

The Great Unveiling This is what the mother of the player looks like. In the story she dies at birth. Ol 'Qui-Gonn leaves it to your rebellious soul in the absence. But Shesez succeeds in getting into the delivery room, switching on the light and discovering her true appearance. And now I want to go back and play Fallout 3 with someone who looks more like her.

Other set designs that Shesez reveals show more about how game developers manage their worlds efficiently before moving on. I was delighted to see Tranquility Lane ̵

1; the creepy side-adventure in Vault 112 – played in full color. That makes sense. Why should developers take the time to develop an environment in sepia tones instead of just building and filtering on the existing toolkit and palette?

It's a great shoot-the-bull video for a long weekend and a reminder of how deep the lore goes, though many in the recent chapter Fallout 76 rightfully have a thin and repetitive experience do.
