God of War is a huge game, so it's likely that many secrets are hidden in it. But what few people could have guessed was that something would be discovered by the physical map included in the Collector's Edition. (Note: some spoilers below.)
As Kotaku reported, players have now decrypted a puzzle based on runes scattered across the Collector's Edition card. These runes were decrypted by YouTube user BRKsEDU, who used in-game alphabets to support transliteration. You can read the complete Rune puzzle at the end of this article; Essentially, it tells the story of Sindri and Brok and their journey to treasure.
This puzzle led passionate fans in search of treasures about the world of the game, but finally user SkipOneEBR found a last clue in the physical map. Letters along the left and right corresponded to the "steps" through the map and traced the paths of Brok and Sindri. These trails eventually end in Muspelheim Temple. By following the instructions at the end of the puzzle, you can unlock a rift that contains a special peg for Kratos' ax with some pretty good scores.
In other news, Sony Santa Monica has regularly updated the game to fix bugs and improve the overall experience. The latest patch, which has just been released, includes a text size slider, along with other, unspecified optimizations. The Sindri and Brok Riddle
The brilliant huldra smith Brok and Sindri traveled through the lands of Midgard to create this great card for the giantess Faye. At the end of their journey, a mysterious treasure was found in the square between them. Unfortunately for the brothers, Brok's place was immediately forgotten of his steps and accused Sindri of losing the treasure, but he knew it was Brok's fault they could not find him. The treasure was never found and neither has since spoken to the other.
To show the great treasure in the golden circle and look straight ahead at Tyr's temple, look now to the left brazier back to Tyr's temple view to the right brazier and back to Eft Brazier
After we have just gone to the left brazier, we look straight back to Tyr's temple, now looking at the ground and then at the right brazier and then back to the left brazier, and finally to Tyr's temple to see the forgotten one To reveal treasure.
