Sony's next major PS4 exclusive, God of War, is fast approaching. The action game comes in the course of April, and Sony has released a developer video update prior to its release highlighting Kratos' new weapon for this adventure.
Unlike previous games, PS4's God of War serves as a kind of reboot for the series, disassociating itself from previous entries by introducing elements of Norse mythology, and especially Kratos son Atreus. Another important difference is Kratos' choice of weapon; instead of using his legendary blades again, he picks up the Leviathan ax instead.
In the above video, the developers give more insight into the new weapon, including why they decided to go with the ax over Kratos' familiar arsenal. The video shows some of Kratos' devastating attacks and gives some insight into some of the possible upgrades that players can choose over the course of the game.
Sony announced that God of War had previously brought gold earlier this month, which means the game is ready to be sent to manufacturing. It is expected to be released on April 20 for PS4. It will come with a PS4 Pro bundle that includes a God of War console and some digital content. It also gets a performance mode with PS4 Pro, even if you do not have a 4K display.
