It's tough for Saturday Night Live Costar Pete Davidson. Only yesterday we learned that his engagement with pop star Ariana Grande has come to an end. Now a donation page for him seems to be offline on GoFundMe.
For those who are not aware of this piece of pop culture ephemera, I want to make a connection: The comedian had a short, intense romance with Ms. Grande. After only a few weeks together, they announced their engagement and moved in together – which a normal couple would really do. Thereafter, the media pounced on every move, writing seemingly endless profiles about them and their supposed immortal love for each other.
The endless review, however, seems to have come to the duo because last night TMZ reported that Davidson and Grande separated. What a whirlwind that was!
Twitter was ignited by the news. The people were shocked, not shocked and everything in between shocked and not shocked. Last night's fan felt particularly bad, I think, and made a GoFundMe for Davidson because he was probably homeless now. The site said that the 24-year-old, who is confident in a popular weekly television show, "needs some sleep tonight." He had a target of $ 2,500 and it is unclear how much money he has collected demolished. (I contacted GoFundMe to confirm that the company deleted the page and will be updated if for any reason it has a comment on it.)
With this blow poor Pete has to spend his own money on one to find place to crash. God knows where he slept last night. The only consolation we have is TMZ 's claims that the two "still have love for each other." At least we have that.
