Google App 8.39 Creates Material Theme Tab "More", "Add Car" and "Explore" Wizard [APK Insight]

The latest beta version of the Google App will be shipping a slew of new features this evening. Google App 8.39 shows a possible upcoming setting of "Unlock with Voice Match," a material theme for the "More" tab and "Putty" assistant for cars.

About APK Insight : In this APK Insight & # 39; post, we have decompiled the latest version of an application that Google has uploaded to the Play Store. If we decompile these files (called APK in the case of Android apps), we can see different lines of code within this hint for possible future features. Note that Google may not provide these features and that our interpretation of what they are may be incomplete. We will try to empower those closer to the end to show you what they will look like if they ship. In this sense, read on.

The last tab called "More" in the Google app includes a number of settings and options, with Google App 8.39 showing a redesign. It uses the Google Material Theme and features the new style of hollowed out icons, a redesigned account change, and the Google logo above. Many of the same menu items are displayed, but "Search Activity" and the new "Your Data in Search" privacy settings are now included.

Kitt: Assistant and Cars

The beta version of last week added a "kitt_device" from which we added assumed that it was related to Assistant on Android Auto. Google App 8.39 comes back with new strings that confirm they're linked to Google Assistant, and we've also enabled the "Add a car" option in the Services section of the wizard settings.

Voice Match Disabled

Using pixel 3 and pixels 3 XL removed Google's "Unlock with Voice Match" option Allow users:

Say "Ok Google" to unlock your device and access your assistant directly

This "less secure feature" – like Google itself warned – was essentially another passcode and allowed "a similar voice or recording of your voice" to unlock your device. Google's new solution, starting with the latest flagship, allows only a user's voice, via Google Assistant, to access personal results such as email, calendars, contacts, and reminders when the phone is locked.

OK

"The Unlock Voice Match feature you used has been replaced with a more secure method to get personal results while your device is locked, so you can change that in your wizard settings."

Updated Voice Match

The Google App 8.39 is now preparing to disable the "Unlock Speech Match" option in favor of the new option "Lock Personal Screen Results" for all devices. This "Updated Voice Match" prompt explaining the change would only make sense on phones and tablets that previously had access to the previous capability.
