Google Maps is Google's most popular navigation app on the market, but the company has a second similar app that is even better for some people, especially frequent travelers. This is Waze, an app that Google bought a few years ago. The navigation is slightly different from Google Maps and other competitors. Waze packs crowd sourcing reports, informing drivers about the condition of the road. Whether it's an accident, heavy traffic, or police, the app will let you know when driving to your destination, suggesting even better routes based on that information. Google, as we've heard several times, is working on sending incident reports to Google Maps. One of Waze's best features may already be available to some Google Maps users.
Google Maps not only displays speed limits on the navigation screen as stated in Android Police as is the case with Waze and other sat nav apps, but it also displays speed traps.
The following screenshots show the new speed limit icon in the lower left corner of the navigation screen:
Waze users are already familiar with Speed Trap reports so they know what to expect on Google Maps. The same Android Police reports that speed trap icons have already been discovered in Google Maps alongside voice warnings.
As you can see in the image above, speed cameras are displayed on the screen and an audible alert reminds drivers of theirs Existence when they are on the move.
You can not tell when the feature will run to all Google Maps users. Currently, it is only available in certain locations in the US. While waiting for your arrival, you can always check the Waze app on the App Store or Google Play.
