Google's potential Android successor, Fuchsia, now has a developer website

After Google has contributed to the disappearance of mobile operating systems such as Symbian and BlackBerry, Google wants to make sure that another operating system is in the starting blocks, even if Android is at some point far behind its prime. That's why Google has assembled a team of more than 100 people to develop Fuchsia OS, another open source platform. According to Android Police, Google yesterday launched a website for developers under Fuchsia.dev.
Fuchsia does not use the Linux kernel like the Android and Chrome operating systems. Instead, the zirconia microkernel is used. A microkernel is essentially the smallest amount of software required to run an operating system. As expected, Fuchsia runs differently than Android. The good news is that the cross-platform Flutter SDK allows Android developers to quickly port their apps to Fuchsia.

Starting the developer page should be Google Help make Fuchsia known and give developers the opportunity to step out and learn all about the basics of the operating system. Whatever Google has in mind for Fuchsia, development continues. And when Fuchsia replaces Android, it will be important to have a well-stocked app store. Stay tuned.
