Grass fires erupt on the border of Concord-Walnut Creek

Three fires broke out near the Concord-Walnut Creek border, according to Contra Costa's Fire Protection District. Every fire burns half a morning on a morning grass and the firefighters respond.

Footage shows golden grassy hills burning on Ygnacio Valley Road on the border of Concord and Walnut Creek. Fire trucks were stationed near houses near the fire, but evacuations were not ordered, said Steve Aubert, a spokesman for the Fire Department.

Officials urge the public to avoid the area of Ygnacio Valley Road and Oak Grove Road. Eastbound Oak Grove Road is closed and will need traffic diversion for an unknown period of time.
