Great Mall robbery, confused with shooting



MILPITAS – A loud noise during an obvious attempted robbery in a shop in the Great Mall of the Bay Area was deemed possible for shots and sparked an active response from law enforcement on Sunday.

Around 7:30 pm, Milpitas police responded to the mall and sent them to the division's Twitter account at around 8:00 pm to request residents and visitors to avoid the area. Police report: "[i] Reports from social media and other sources that shots fired at GMBA are currently unconfirmed. As a precautionary measure, those within the GMBA were asked to seek protection while the employees carried out a search inside the mall.
