When shooting a movie like 2018 Halloween it is tempting and pretty much necessary to resort to the earlier history of such a famous franchise. Director and co-author David Gordon Green has obviously interfered well with the current film in this practice, as references and events are scattered throughout the franchise throughout the call to other films. But what makes him proudest is the following, obscure hint:
While we ourselves had heard so much about Green, thanks to our own Eric Eisenberg's time on Halloween Press Day, in this narration. There is an interesting one Detail. This is because EW shares David Gordon Green's revelation that John Carpenter not only noted the reference to this song, his reaction to the ad-lib was quite pleasant.
In the Scene of 1978 Halloween We see Laurie walking down the sidewalk after handing over the key to Myers' apartment as she promised her father. As she strolls down the street, she sings the improvised song to herself, and finally we see Michael Myers following her as she walks away.
This song, on which many questions were posed on the Internet, sits next to the masks of Halloween III: The Witches Season as one of the most memorable but subtle references to the Halloween Canon in the new movie. And now, after years of curiosity in a classic moment, it's a real song. Will not search this title yet, because it does not look like the soundtrack to the new movie contains it. Unless, like The Shape itself, it's hidden in sight.
With a potentially record-breaking first weekend, Halloween feels it may have some legs on it for the rest of the month. The positive word of mouth not only helps keep this movie in everyone's mind, but the potential Easter egg hunt will most likely have followers and newcomers looking for possible connections to the past.
